Stacie Toal, Ph. D., established Cannon River Consulting to help
organizations answer questions with maximum efficiency and minimal
effort. To accomplish this mission, CRC relies on a professional network
of evaluators and researchers, as well as her own professional and
educational experience.
Dr. Toal has worked in higher education for over ten years, first in
enrollment management at Bradley University, then as coordinator of
institutional research at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Since moving to
Minnesota in 2004, she has worked as an external research analyst with
over twenty private colleges and universities through her work at
Hardwick-Day, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in enrollment
management at private colleges. However, Stacie’s experience is not
limited to higher education. Since 2004, Dr. Toal has honed her
research and evaluation skills by expanding her work into primary and
secondary education settings, as well as grant research and
writing.
Her work on a National Science Foundation research grant has given her
insight into building useful evaluations in multi-site settings.
Stacie also serves as an evaluation consultant for a
large school district in Minnesota where she builds internal evaluation
capacity by coaching data analysts in evaluation design, implementation,
and analysis. In addition, she is also evaluating a youth mentoring
program associated with a Minneapolis public school.
Dr. Toal’s skills include research and evaluation design,
implementation, and both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Most of
all she enjoys engaging others in the process, so that they can better
understand and use the results. Stacie earned her doctorate in
Educational Policy and Administration – Evaluation Studies at the
University of Minnesota in 2007. She also has a master’s degree in
Organizational Communication from Michigan State University and a
bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Bradley University.
